City Surf Project has volunteer opportunities for you and your friends! Support from our community is what inspires our youth and opens their eyes to new opportunities.
Youth Surfing Volunteers not only help our staff deliver our regular programming, but will also serve as adult role models for our youth.
We want to emphasize the importance of the volunteer student dynamic, and ask that our volunteers be willing to make a commitment to our program and to our youth in order to create a safe and familiar environment for our students.

Volunteer Roles

You will working with the staff surf instructors to help beginner surfers catching waves and will be responsible for helping assist in managing the group safety from the water. This is a challenging position, and the conditions we normally work in can be very difficult to manage for any level of surfer. Those who would like to participate in this capacity need to keep in mind that this role has the most direct impact on the participant’s experience. We do require volunteers to participate in one of our trainings or have come out on program as a water-safety volunteer several times.

Do you like to take photos and want to dabble in some surf photography? We’d love to have you join us out on our programs and take pictures of our students enjoying the water, having fun on the shore and more! We ask that you bring your own camera equipment.

Oftentimes we need a little extra help driving our vans to the beach. If interested, you need a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
